The Observatory is located on the shore of Lake Travers. Escape the hubbub to the peaceful surroundings of a radio observatory. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful surroundings by:

taking a tour of the Observatory

canoeing or kayaking on lakes and rivers
swimming in the clear water of Lake Travers
birdwatching - more than 270 species have been recorded locally
hiking and walking through the woods or along the shore of the sandy beach
photographing the wildlife
fishing (bring your own gear, bait, and permit)
spotting the wildlife
using us as a base to explore beautiful Algonquin Park
or relaxing with a book in the comfortable Muskoka chairs by the lakeside
